Accessibility statement

How accessible FreierTermin is and how to report barriers to us.

This English version is provided for convenience. The German version is the reference text.

Our goal

FreierTermin should be usable for everyone – on a smartphone, with a keyboard, with a screen reader and with magnification. We develop against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

Compliance status

FreierTermin is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA. A full audit by an independent body has not yet taken place. We test automatically (axe-core) and manually with keyboard and screen reader.

What we pay attention to during development

  • Keyboard operation with visible focus and a “Skip to content” link
  • Buttons and inputs with a touch target of at least 44 × 44 pixels
  • Colour contrast according to WCAG AA as a design system requirement, light and dark mode
  • Availability always as text (“Available”, “No appointments found” …), never by colour alone
  • Several languages, Arabic with right-to-left layout

Known limitations

  • Map views are only partially usable with screen readers. The goal is to offer all locations as a list as well. [REVIEW: check against the map page before publishing]
  • Translations other than German and English are partly incomplete; missing texts appear in German.
  • Legal texts are currently only available in German and English.
  • The authorities’ official booking pages are not our responsibility and are not always accessible.
  • Sounds and vibration of push notifications depend on device and browser and cannot be controlled everywhere.

Report a barrier

Did you notice a barrier? Write to [email protected] with the subject “Accessibility” and briefly describe on which page and with which device or assistive technology the problem occurs. We reply as soon as possible, at the latest within [insert period]. [REVIEW]

Enforcement

[insert competent market surveillance authority, if the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) applies] [REVIEW]

REVIEWIt is open whether FreierTermin as a free service falls under the BFSG (§ 1(3) no. 5, § 2 no. 26 BFSG: services “with a view to concluding a consumer contract”) and whether Kaya Bytes is exempt as a micro-enterprise (§ 3(3) BFSG). We publish this statement voluntarily either way.
